Coach Feature on Lady Knights Basketball Head Coach Jerry Brown

The Head Coach of ShastaÕs College Lady Knights basketball has coached 13 seasons with 11 winning seasons in a row.

The first two seasons he started 8-20 and 10-19. ÒIt was pretty much at the bottomÓ Brown said.

ÒIt was a lot of work and everyone else was calling us and wanted to play us because we were so terribleÓ said Brown.

ÒThen we started getting good recruits and had a winning season ever since.Ó

ÒIt took a lot of workÓ Brown added.

ÒI loved playing basketball at Mt. Shasta high school and got an scholarship and played at San Diego St.Ó said Brown.

ÒSo I went and played down there and went over seas and played.Ó

ÒI came back and started up my coaching careerÓ Brown said.

ÒAs long as I enjoy getting up and working with the kids then IÕm good but if that changes then its time to goÓ Brown said.

 The Lady Knights had a great season going 8-2 and having a share of the Golden Valley Championship.

ÒGreat season with a 8-2 record won the GVC conference tieing LassenÓ said Brown. ÒItÕs a tough league getting a championship out there.Ó

ÒWe went to the playoffs on the road and played Santa Rosa and lost.Ó

ÒThey better than so yea disappointed with the outcome but, great seasonÓ Brown added.
