Latest Shasta College Lance Issue

In this issue is the decoration of Dakota Meyer, who recently received the Medal of Honor. Also, reports on events occurring on campus, including Friday Night Music Series and Eighth Grade Day. There are also several columns that discuss topics ranging from transfer opportunities to the emotional toll cancer takes on friends and family. This issue also reports on topics that take place outside of the immediate community, such as the close of the baseball season and the repeal of Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell.

About the college

The campus is located on 337 acres, and is referred to as the Stillwater campus because it is bordered by Stillwater Creek on the East Side. The District also owns an additional 350 acres in Bella Vista. The District encompasses the counties of Shasta, Tehama, and Trinity, and small portions of Lassen, Modoc, and Humboldt counties and covers approximately 10,000 square miles, which is larger than the state of Massachusetts. The District operates extended education sites in Anderson, Burney, McArthur, Corning, Los Molinos, Red Bluff, the Redding Rancheria, and Weaverville.
