Actress and part-time Shasta College student Jazzie Mahannah sits down with Lance reporter Rachid Yousfi for an interview. Her movie and television parts have included Donnie Darko with Jake Gyllenhaal and Drew Barrymore, Jack Frost starring Michael Keaton, voiceovers for the animated film The Incredibles and 2007 film Transformers, and a guest starring part in the ABC television series The Evidence, among others. Her studies at Shasta College include Introduction to Mass Communications and Photography.

First Music Video Filmed In Redding

Shasta College students and other local Redding habitants attend a video shoot/performance for Pop/Punk band Broadway Calls from Rainier, Oregon. It was filmed at the Caldwell Recreation Center in Redding.

The campus is located on 337 acres, and is referred to as the Stillwater campus because it is bordered by Stillwater Creek on the East Side. The District also owns an additional 350 acres in Bella Vista. The District encompasses the counties of Shasta, Tehama, and Trinity, and small portions of Lassen, Modoc, and Humboldt counties and covers approximately 10,000 square miles, which is larger than the state of Massachusetts. The District operates extended education sites in Anderson, Burney, McArthur, Corning, Los Molinos, Red Bluff, the Redding Rancheria, and Weaverville.
